Second Conference on International Women’s Day

On the occasion of the closing of the month of March, designated as the month of women, the Women’s Federation for World Peace and the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace organized on Saturday April 1, 2023, in Brazzaville in the Sycamore Church conference hall, Second Conference on International Women’s Day “Responsibility Generation” Forum on the theme: “For an inclusive digital world: innovation and technology for gender equality”. The program consisted of two phases.
The first phase of the program began with prayer and words of welcome from Mrs. Tania GOMBESSA, wife of the Pastor of Sycomore Church, Ambassador for Peace. Four panelists intervened and shared their experiences and provided several information.
In her speech, the President of the Federation of Congo Brazzaville Women, Mrs. Lydia Zodji said that this activity is a new beginning, a new impetus and an awakening. She specified that the struggle for women’s rights is a daily occurrence and invited women to show good virtues: gentleness, peace and cohesion. Ms. Zodji indicated that equality must be translated in terms of the vision that women can bring to society. The family being the fundamental unit of society, the basis of education must be respect, love, mutual aid and generosity.
Presenting the book on the autobiography of the True Mother, she added that the Women’s Federation plays an educational role and has the status of a member of the UN. She also said in relation to the theme of March 8, 2023 that digital has both benefits and harms and that applications like whatsapp, facebook, tik tok and youtube should not be used for immorality.
In turn, the vice-president of the Women’s Federation & Coordinator of the network of the maternal heart for peace, Ms. Bayissa Pétronie shared the vision of the Founder of the Women’s Federation while recalling the action of women in the movements associative. She insisted that the woman is an individual body of truth who must share a great deal of love and invited the young ladies to lead a life of chastity until marriage.
The Secretary General of the Departmental Office of Students, Ms. Emmanuelle Elion, dwelled on the awareness of young people with regard to their schooling. . For her, talking about equality refers to the complementarity of men and women. She encouraged the young girls to focus on their studies.
The communication of the Secretary General of the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace, leader Yannick KASONGO revolved around the theme “For an inclusive digital world: innovation and technology for gender equality”. He said this is the 2nd forum in that the 1st was held in 2021, under the Covid-19 pandemic. He recalled the objective of the association whose destiny he ensures, noting that it brings together young people around the ideals of peace. According to him, equality aims to have the same rights and duties centered on love as well as the same values. He invited women to keep the spirit young whatever their social condition.
He urged moms to anchor themselves to information and communication technologies as we are currently in a digitalized world.
To better control children, parents must know the digital in that it has negative and positive points. He pointed out that the digital is a drug whose use must be controlled. It challenges women to become aware, to be balanced and to take responsibility.
In the second phase of the program, Mrs. Lydia ZODJI proceeded to the appointment of Mrs. Yougi KIESSE as president of the Women’s Youth of the Women’s Federation to prepare the succession.
In all, the event was attended by eighty people.
