IAYSP-Angola organized Peace Design Table # 15 The value of Fine Arts in the Peacemaking Process

Moderated by Quixibo José Ngola, 6 young artists and 1 social project manager became Peace Makers when they reflected in their Peace Dialogue Table on the value of fine arts in the peace building process.

Objectives:

To awaken the Angolan and fledgling artistic community and the need for greater involvement in the exercise of citizenship through the visual arts in order for their works to emphasize the “value dimension of the visual arts in the process of peacebuilding and peace-keeping”.

Conclusions:

1- Revisiting the Angolan collective memory from the pre-colonial period to the present day and depicting it in works of art;

2- Plastic artists can develop projects that inspire the value of important figures who contributed to the building of peace in Angola;

3- Humanism and solidarity between people and a high degree of empathy will be evident in the works of the artists.
