MARKET CLEANUP CAMPAIGN

IAYSP Malawi conducted an awareness campaign through a market cleanup event on the 12 August 2021 at a community market in Lilongwe the capital city of Malawi. This service project aimed to change peoples mindset to embrace proper waste disposal to ensure that places like markets and cities are clean and safe to live. By inspiring the youths to take the leading action as proactive citizens community youths were mobilized and 30 youth actively participated.

Active youth participation, the spirit of volunteerism among the youths was cultivated and inspired passionate on clean environment. In addition to that the market sanitation committee was established to ensure sustainability of the project.

To involve more youths in active participation in community service by networking with already existed community youth structures. Furthermore is to partner with the city council to collaborate efforts in mitigating the vice. Lastly is to mobilize enough tools for the service project so they are readily available
