LAUNCH OF PEACE CLUBS
IAYSP-Nigeria organized WORKSHOP ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PEACE CLUBS IN COMMUNITIES at PEACE CENTER OCHOKU on February 20, 2021. It was a one day workshop on the establishment of peace clubs in the communities
The workshop had in attendance 137 participants.
The President of IAYSP-Nigeria gave the opening/welcome Address by drawing the attention of the participants to the growing challenge of cultism and drug abuser in the communities, hence the need for alternative in education and developing the youth towards peaceful ventures, the president introduced the core value of IAYSP ( R.I.S.E. Responsible Youth, Integrity, Service to the community and Empathy)
About 10 head of schools who were in attendance gave positive feedback and are preparing for us to visit their school for train the trainer workshop who will manage the peace club in the school also community leaders who are inspired about the initiatives.
The Program also features the appointment of the Councilor of Okpoma as Youth ambassador For Peace, who promises to promote the Peace Club initiatives.
The President highlighted the core point of character education also reiterate the need for youth to take marriage issues seriously.
The program came to a close with majority of the youth leaders making firm determination to bring their community to understand support IAYSP Program.
