Character education in Nakabugu Primary School

IAYSP-Uganda organized character education in Nakabugu Primary School on February 02, 2022.

A character education event to talk to pupils of Nakabugu Primary School was organized for purposes of motivating and encouraging young people to have clear goals and a purpose for their lives. The head teacher briefed the pupils and teachers on the purpose of the visit and then later on invited Kezimbira Asan Titus to present his team and then talk to the audience. Thus the pupils, teachers and head teacher all participated in the event which was held at the parade of the school.

The pupils were strongly encouraged to avoid relationships of boyfriends and girlfriends as they are growing up so as to avoid distractions and asked to focus on their education. They also were taught to be respectful of their teachers, parents and leaders as well as to put their focus on God.  In the end, the school head teacher delivered his concluding remarks by thanking the IAYSP team for coming and asked that such events be organized periodically so as to help the pupils to stay in line as they grew up.

It was an amazing and educative event for the pupils as well as the teachers who were available because it showed them a positive direction and gave them hope that they could also make it if only they worked hard while listening to their teachers. These types of events are a source of increasing knowledge and interest in education for the young people.
