Character Education

IAYSP-DR Congo organized Character Education in Butembo City on September 21, to celebrate the International Day of Peacce.

In order to sensitize young people on the concepts of the culture of peace, a conference on character education was organized by IAYSP-DRC through its representation of the city of Butembo, for the benefit of the leaders of religious youth associations, leaders of youth leagues from political parties, civil society,… under the theme: The ardent desire for peace is universal.

The participants had promised to support the IAYSP in achieving its objectives; and sensitize youth to get involved in building a culture of peace.

Note that Butembo is one of the big cities in the eastern part of the country, victim of atrocities caused by local and foreign armed groups; and which regularly registers memberships of young people within armed groups.

This activity was part of the commemoration of International Youth Day.
