African Youth Assembly 2022
IAYSP Africa organized the African Youth Assembly under the theme « The African Dream: A Call of the African Youth for Sustainable Peace, Unity and Mutual Prosperity from September 21 to 24, 2022. Youth from all across Africa has attended the event onsite and on-site.
On the first day, the opening ceremony has been held, celebrating International Peace Day. The president of IAYSP Africa, Mrs Mica Amanlaman gave her opening remarks. Mr Essou Noudokpo, the Mediator of the Republic of Benin and Hon. Filomena Goncalve, Minister of the presidency of the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary affairs from Cape Verde, gave keynote addresses to encourage peace activities held by IAYSP.
From the afternoon of the first day to the second day, African Youth Leadership Conference took place. Eminent youth VIPs from various nations gave their insightful speeches in different areas such as politics, religion, economics, academics, media, art, culture and sport. Enthusiastic questions and answers were shared.
The third day was the campaign of character education. IAYSP Africa shared the founder’s vision and the necessity of character education. And the program was followed by the 3 lectures of character education given by IAYSP Sub Regional Presidents. The participants could learn significance of peace, conflict resolution as well as the necessity of keeping their purity.
As the the final day of the African Youth Assembly, Young Sounds of Peace final match was held and 3 teams of singers and 3 teams of dancers shared their great performances. After that, Peace Makers Award was given to the youth who accomplished the Youth Make Peace Tour which is revitalization campaign in different countries. Additionally, two congratulatory remarks by Mr. Mr. Nestor Idohou, Mayor of Sakete from Benin and Dr Susan Kone, the Vice president of Women’s Federation for World Peace International. As the conclusion, IAYSP together with all youth participaticipants presented the African Youth Declaration as our resolution and substantial action step.
The event was successfully held in different locations and marked more than 3700 viewers online.
