2-Day workshop on Drug Abuse in Zambia

International Association of youth and students for peace Zambia was invited by an organization called Families are nations and the Drug enforcement commission of Zambia for a 2-day workshop at the Peace Embassy in Lusaka Zambia. the event began at 10 am (Zambian time) until 16hrs on the first day on the 12th then from 9:30 am to 15hrs (Zambian time) on the second day on the 13th. the purpose of the event was to respond to the president of Zambia’s call to help deal with Drug abuse in youth and help build families with good morals in Zambia.
The event started off with a speech from the Drug enforcement commission of Zambia about the prevalence of Drug abuse among the Youth of Zambia. This was followed by a discussion moderated by an expert from the commission about how the Drug policy in Zambia can be improved so that Drug abuse can be prevented. After that, an open-floor discussion was held where the participants shared their opinions and thoughts on the issue
The second day of the event started off with the participants sharing their ideas on how the problems of Drug abuse can be solved and how they can help the youth to lead healthy and productive lives. This was followed by a presentation by Families are Nations on how they are helping the youth gain access to resources such as education and vocational training to help them make well-informed decisions.

The workshop concluded with a sharing of experiences by some of the members of the International Association of youth and students for peace Zambia on their work towards addressing the problems of Drug abuse in Zambia.

Conclusion
The event was very informative and successful in helping the participants to gain a better understanding of the Drug policy in Zambia and the problems of Drug abuse among the youth in Zambia. The participants also gained a better understanding of the initiatives that Families are Nations is currently undertaking to help the youth. The workshop also provided a platform for the participants to share their ideas on how to help the youth of Zambia lead healthy lifestyles.
